*In order to participate you can only miss two rehearsals. This is a short process and we will be learning 3 BIG Group numbers for the entire cast.

1. Do I have to audition?

NO! All who register to be a part of the performance will be included. However, if you are interested in singing a solo or a duet, you must audition with the song you would like to perform. These auditions will take place on DECEMBER 30th immediately following the Info Night.

2. What should I sing?

All selections should be from Musical Theatre - no radio songs will be performed. Please be sure to confirm that you are singing a song from Musical Theatre and not a movie musical -( i.e K Pop Demon Hunters etc.)

3. What will the show look like?

The show will begin with a big opening number from the entire cast! Then the evening will be curated based on song choices. Group performances will be encouraged, solos and duets will be selected. We will make sure that everyone who participates in this production will have ample stage time. There will be a 15 minute intermission. And we will begin ACT 2 with another full cast number, and finally, we will close the show with a Closing Number for the entire cast.

4. There aren't a lot of rehearsals - will I need to rehearse with my group outside of the designated times?

YES. We have two weeks to put the show together which includes learning music, choreography and building a lighting design for each number. Participants are expected to work on their selections outside of rehearsal as our rehearsals together will be limited, and reserved mostly for large group numbers.

About the Show:
The Humans is a Tony Award-winning play by Stephen Karam that depicts a Thanksgiving dinner with the Blake family at the new apartment of their daughter Brigid in Lower Manhattan. As the night unfolds, the play uses the familiar setting of a family gathering to explore universal fears like old age, economic hardship, illness, and abandonment, blending moments of humor with growing anxiety. The family deals with their own issues, including the grandmother's Alzheimer's, Aimee's recent breakup, and the father Erik's hidden secrets, while dealing with the unsettling noises and atmosphere of their new apartment.

CHARACTER INFORMATION:
Erik Blake: The patriarch of the family.
Deirdre Blake: Erik's wife.
Aimee Blake: The couple's daughter.
Brigid Blake: The other daughter, who has recently moved into a new apartment with her boyfriend.
